We are a family run yacht brokerage and advisory firm committed to client service. With emphasis on personal and professional representation, we provide a comprehensive suite of yacht services from Sales Brokerage, and Charter, to Yacht Management, Charter Marketing, and New Construction.

We offer our clients extensive commercial, technical, and operational expertise in both domestic and overseas markets. We leverage years of experience managing yacht transactions around the world to include the US, Europe, Mexico, the Caribbean, and South America to ensure every aspect of the yacht purchase or sale is handled to protect the client’s interest. Whether purchasing or selling, DES handles all the details conscientiously to ensure a smooth and enjoyable process.

David Sargus, Sr., of Annapolis, Maryland brings over 40 years of yachting and business expertise to DES Yachts. David Sr. is licensed and bonded both in the state of Maryland as well as Florida. Over the years, David Sr. has built a solid and knowledgeable foundation of the marine industry. Having closed such a large volume of boat and yacht transactions, he offers his clients unique expertise in all business and technical matters surrounding the purchase and sale of boats and yachts. There is no aspect of the industry — from marine financing, vessel documentation, and insurance, to yacht structure and operation — for which he cannot provide solid guidance. David really wants his clients to thoroughly enjoy the process and offers the expertise to make sure they do. Managing Broker DES YACHT BROKERAGE, INC.

With an MA degree in International Affairs/Economics from American University, a BA degree in International Studies, and a background in structured finance consulting under his belt, David’s experience is extensive and includes tenures with some of the most respected companies around the world to include KPMG/Bearing Point Consulting and with reference to the yachting industry, FRASER YACHTS, Monaco. While at Fraser, David immersed himself in the company’s training programs to include new construction projects at the BENETTI and FINCANTIERI shipyards in Viareggio, Livorno and Trieste Italy as well as regular visits to several other Dutch yards to include FEADSHIP, OCEANCO, AMELS and HEESEN YACHTS. His last project for one of his clients was a new-build of a 100′ MOONEN yacht, now nearing completion in Holland. From smaller boats to mega yachts, David has the respect of his clients and yachting associates from around the world both in brokerage and new construction. He is the partner uniquely equipped to oversee DES Yachts operations. David is a Florida licensed Yacht and Ship broker.

Gerard Brinkmann

Broker DES YACHT BROKERAGE, INC.

Gerard Brinkmann has had a wide variety of yachting experience amassed over the past fifteen years. His time spent aboard Runabouts, PHRF Sailboat Racing vessels, Convertibles and Motor Yachts has provided Gerry a very knowledgeable background of various makes and models of yacht builders available today.
It all started when Gerry came to DES Yacht’s President, David Sargus , to purchase not one , but (over time) a few select yachts to enjoy when he wasn’t serving our country with the United States Marines. What began as a client evolved into a great friendship and now a member of the DES Yacht Brokerage team.

After a career with the U.S. Marine Corps, one can imagine the discipline, strong work ethic, and commitment to detail Gerry’s military duty afforded him. Now he is enjoying his life-long passion for boats and the ability to utilize and benefit his clients with the yacht knowledge and seamanship he has attained over the years.
DES Yacht Brokerage is proud to have Gerry as a member. As both a previous buyer and seller of yachts, he has been on both sides of the yacht purchase and sales process. He treats his clients as he would want to be treated. His desire now is to achieve the utmost satisfaction and respect of his client base, and that he does well. When there is time, Gerry enjoys cruising the Chesapeake and fishing offshore aboard his prized Tiara, a great boat for a really great guy!
